"(The law is) a common-sense measure that will benefit individuals who don't identify as male or female as well as parents and caregivers who have dependents of the opposite sex," state Sen. Melinda Bush, D-Grayslake, said in a statement, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Bush said "The Equitable Restrooms Act," which passed unanimously in the state's Senate and with a 109-5 vote in the House, "is a small change that will make a big impact for thousands of Illinoisians."
